A good option for those that are fussy about their vision
I've worn glasses for years, and finally at the age of 26 decided to try contacts. My doctor had me try out the Acuvue Oasys contacts first, which were definitely comfortable, but there was just something 'off' in the vision for me. I do have large pupils, so glare is definitely an issue for me. When I went back, my doctor had me try a different correction (the first pair was too strong) in both the Oasys and the Frequency 55 Aspheric. At first, I had a heck of a time getting the 55's in - they're seemingly thinner than the Oasys and larger in diameter, which made them a bit floppy (they folded up on me a lot). Immediately, I noticed that the vision was a ton crisper, and comfort wise, there wasn't much of a difference. I don't need to sleep in my contacts, so I don't require a Silicone Hydrogel. I am mildly astigmatic, but not enough to be able to try out a toric lens. The aspheric contacts for me seem to give me the best possible vision in a soft lens. I did try out the Bausch & Lomb PureVision contacts as they are aspheric as well - but they are noticeably thicker and almost sharp feeling on the eye, and I just couldn't get used to them.

I am changing from Frequency 55 Toric in the left eye to the Frequency 55 Aspheric. The lense is thinner than the Toric, it therefore feels more comfortable. I have had it on for 24 hours. Here is my assessment: My vision is about the same as with the previous Toric lense, which is what the Optometrist both explained and showed me. More comfortable than the Toric lense.
